Premier League: has your manager solved your club’s most pressing problem?
Hull City got promoted from the Championship without one player reaching double figures in the goalscoring charts. Robert Koren topped the list with nine goals, which is quite a surprising statistic, and they saw their defensive stability tested to the max.
Manager Steve Bruce has identified this area as the one to strengthen the most and has brought in two new frontmen. Coming in on a season-long loan from Sunderland is Danny Graham, who in 11 games for the Black Cats failed to find the net. Here’s hoping a change of scenery can reignite Graham and help him find the form he had at Swansea that earned him the £5m move to Sunderland. Also arriving at the KC Stadium is Yannick Sagbo, who signed for £1.6m from French side Evian.
With these new faces and a fit Sone Aluko, Hull City could well stay in the division, but let’s not kid ourselves, survival is the goal.
