PREMIER LEAGUE PREVIEW: SWANSEA V HULL CITY
Swansea will be boosted by the potential returns of star strikers Michu and record-signing Wilfried Bony ahead of the Monday night fixture at home to Hull City.
The fixture is the first ever encounter in the top flight between the two and only a mere nine seasons ago both sides met in the basement of English football.
The Swans will be looking for back-to-back home wins following their impressive 3-0 triumph over Newcastle on Wednesday. Hull meanwhile, will be hoping for an improved performance after being swept aside by table-topping Arsenal during the mid-week schedule but face a tough test travelling to The Liberty Stadium.
Much of the success Swansea had last season was down to their home form which seems to have deserted them to an extent this season having only won five times at home in all competitions – albeit it only twice in the league. For the visitors they will need no reminder of their rotten away record which has seen them win once this campaign.
Michael Laurdup may well have one eye on their Thursday night Europa League fixture away at St Gallen and this may be reflected in his team selection. However, expect a strong Swansea side to take to the field despite Alvaro Vazquez’s failure to recover sufficiently from a groin strain. Steve Bruce will have Curtis Davies at his disposal once again after the defender served his one game suspension against the Gunners.
